Clarke summons his 2015’s form
Ben Clarke is the third in the 2017 European Footgolf Tour’s overall ranking. He is happy, how he is playing, which gave him a silver in Germany and a gold in Switzerland last week. He is preparing for the Grand Final.
You won three consecutive EFT tournaments from August to October in 2015. It is like that kind of form that you have now?
Maybe, yes. I feel like I’m in a good place at the moment with my form! It’s taken me a while to get to be where I want to be this season but right now I’m happy with how I’m playing and hoping I can continue this form till the end of the season.
You said, you enjoyed the fairways and the view last year in Switzerland. The conditions were what you have expected before last weekend?
The course in Switzerland is possibly the most beautiful course in footgolf. They changed a couple of holes from last year but the course was still magnificent! A course I’ll never get bored of playing and I’m already looking forward to going back next year!
Was it harder to play a kind of playoff with further nine holes after the two days?
I was happy to play an extra game. there was three of us tied for the lead after 36 holes and I’d always back myself more over a nine hole playoff to maybe just a one or three hole play off. It was an exciting battle to watch throughout the nine holes in my group.
Is it the “Don’t stop me now” feeling for you?
It’s a good feeling but I won’t get carried away with it, I’ll take each tournament as it comes. I think Portugal for the Grand Final may be my next tournament for the EFT, but will see what I can do about Hungary as I love the course and Gábor Gelencsér does a great job every year.
