Slovakia dominated at the Czech Open

The Golf Klub Botanika’s beautiful course was the home of the 9th stage of the 2017 European Footgolf Tour. The Slovakian Martin Simoncic was the leader after the first day, and he could not be caught by the others on Sunday. He won the tournament, while his fellow-countrymen won the team competition as well.

Team Slovakia dominated the Footgolf Central Cup, Martin Simoncic won the tournament with the score -10 after two days on the 18 hole, par 73-course, Tomas Bartko (Slovak also) became second, while Espen Enevold from Norway reached the podium. Slovakia was the best team, and with a magnificent performance on Sunday, Rebeka Rezna (SVK) has beaten Susi Berg (NOR) among the ladies. Lasse Eriksen from Norway won the senior category.

The EFT invented a new game on Saturday morning. It was a side programme for the players to play minigolf. The organizers suggested to play it differently, so played a minifootgolf tournament on a mini golf course, but they played with their legs. It was won by Lukas Jurajda (Czech Republic).

Winner of this and the poker tournament on Saturday evening won a free registration/wildcard for the 2018 Czech Open, as well the best player from every nation participated on the Central Footgolf Cup. Dusan Vangel (SVK) won the longest drive competition, while Gábor Gelencsér (HUN) got the fair play prize because of finding and giving back one of the players’ money on the course.
